Bahraini teachers are reinforcing a strong sense of belonging to the kingdom among students by involving them in patriotic acting and theatre performances.
At Asma That Alnetaqain Primary Girls School, initiative co-ordinators Batoul Gholoum and Fatima Abbas have curated theatrical productions focused on promoting national values. Their engaging and relatable approach has had a notable impact on students.
Ms Gholoum said the initiatives have helped students gain a deeper understanding of Bahrain’s history and rich heritage, alongside a marked improvement in their academic performance in citizenship education.
Ms Abbas added that the school has identified several promising talents in theatre, which it plans to nurture further in co-operation with specialists from the Education Ministry.
The school has also received multiple awards over three consecutive academic years for its plays and has participated in Heritage Village events during national celebrations.
