India's Ministry of External Affairs has condemned the attack on the commercial vessel GFS Galaxy off the coast of Oman, confirming that 10 of the 11 Indian nationals on board have been rescued while one remains missing.
The Indian Embassy in Muscat is coordinating with Omani authorities in the ongoing search and rescue operation and has thanked them for their swift support.
The ministry stated that continued attacks on commercial shipping in the region are “deeply worrisome” and called for an immediate de-escalation, a diplomatic solution, and the restoration of free navigation through international waterways.
The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) had reported earlier that a vessel was struck nine nautical miles east of Oman.
