Bahraini prosecutors participated in a virtual international seminar that addressed the importance of adopting a trauma-informed approach to investigations.
‘A Trauma-Informed Approach to Sexual Assault Investigations and Prosecutions’ was organised by the International Association of Prosecutors, and attended by public prosecutors Mohammed Al Marikhi and Mohammed Al Jalahma.
It focused on interviewing child witnesses, child-friendly judicial practices, and interview techniques that enhance the effectiveness of judicial procedures in handling such cases.
“Participation in the seminar reflects our commitment to keeping pace with the latest international practices in the fields of investigation and prosecution,” the Public Prosecution said in a statement yesterday.
“It also strengthens the capabilities of our members through exposure to specialised expertise.
“This contributes to the continued development of judicial work and reinforces the principles of justice and the protection of victims’ rights.”
