Information Ministry Under-Secretary Yousif Mohammed Al Binkhalil visited Youth City 2030, where he reviewed a number of media programmes and activities presented by the ministry as part of its participation in the 15th edition of the initiative, held under the theme “Create Your Media Experience.”
He commended the initiative’s continued success in providing a practical training environment that helps develop young people’s skills, identify emerging talent and equip participants with hands-on experience across various media disciplines.
The under-secretary affirmed that the support to young people in Bahrain under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad, and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, reflect the kingdom’s steadfast commitment to preparing a capable generation that will contribute to advancing the comprehensive development process.
He also highlighted the continued support and close follow-up of His Majesty King Hamad’s representative for humanitarian work and youth affairs and Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS) chairman Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa for initiatives aimed at developing young people’s capabilities, foremost among them Youth City 2030.
Mr Al Binkhalil said the ministry’s participation reflects its commitment to developing national talent through specialised training programmes that keep pace with the rapid evolution of the media sector. He noted that the initiatives enhance participants’ professional and creative skills while providing practical experience through hands-on training, helping prepare qualified Bahraini professionals capable of contributing to the continued development of the national media sector.
During the visit, the under-secretary attended the closing ceremony of the “8PM News Bulletin Challenge,” one of the ministry’s programmes at Youth City 2030. The challenge focused on producing television news bulletins in a fully integrated professional environment, with participants undertaking all stages of news production to gain practical experience that closely reflects the realities of working in media organisations.
At the conclusion of the visit, Mr Al Binkhalil honoured the winners of the challenge, praising the participants for their outstanding performance, creativity and teamwork.
He wished them continued success and stressed that such initiatives play an important role in discovering and nurturing Bahraini talent, enhancing young people’s readiness to join the media sector and supporting the future of Bahrain’s media industry through promising national competencies.
