Kuwait's Ambassador to Indonesia Khaled Al-Yaseen met with Indonesian Culture Minister Fadli Zon on Wednesday to discuss expanding cultural cooperation through the preparation of a bilateral memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the two countries.
This meeting took place at the Ministry of Culture in Jakarta, where Ambassador Al-Yaseen and Minister Zon discussed efforts to strengthen cultural cooperation between Kuwaiti and Indonesian institutions. Al-Yaseen praised the deep cultural and civilizational exchange between Kuwait and Indonesia, and highlighted Kuwait's prominent role in research, printing, and publishing, and its active contributions to the region's cultural development.
For his part, Zon said that the meeting explored ways to enhance cultural relations through an MoU between the two countries, cooperation within the framework of the UNESCO Convention, and the development of cultural diplomacy programs between Indonesia and Kuwait.
Zon expressed his country's interest in developing cooperation between cultural institutions in both countries, particularly in the fields of antiquities, museums, traditional crafts, and folk arts. The proposed cooperation aims to expand cultural exchange and promote awareness of the cultural and artistic heritage of both countries, in addition to strengthening coordination between institutions concerned with culture and heritage.
