Members and partners of the Rotary Club of Salmaniya have joined environmental and charitable efforts by collecting plastic waste and donating it to the Bahrain Association for Parents and Friends of the Disabled (BAPF).
The donated plastic supports BAPF’s long-running initiative, which converts recycling proceeds into funding for customised wheelchairs designed to meet the specific needs of children.

Since the programme was launched in 2011, 25 people have received customised wheelchairs and 16 others have had their existing wheelchairs adapted to better suit their needs. The initiative has provided support worth more than BD40,000 to date.
