Bahrain Space Agency (BSA) chief executive officer Dr Mohammed Al Aseeri attended the launch ceremony of the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope, organised by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (Nasa) at the launch complex of the Kennedy Space Centre in Florida.
The participation reflects Bahrain’s keenness to strengthen co-operation with leading international space agencies and enhance its presence in international scientific forums and projects, supporting the kingdom’s efforts to develop the space sector and build national capabilities in the domain, in line with His Majesty King Hamad’s vision of strengthening Bahrain’s regional and international presence in the space sector.
Dr Al Aseeri said the participation reflects the strong ties between the BSA and Nasa. He noted that Bahrain’s accession to the Artemis Accords has opened broad prospects for co-operation in space science and its applications.
He said Bahrain’s participation in the historic event reaffirmed the kingdom’s commitment to supporting scientific advancement and translating the vision of His Majesty into making Bahrain a regional centre of excellence in space science and technology.
