The Child Protection in Cyberspace Unit at the General Directorate of Anti-Corruption and Economic and Electronic Security organised a summer programme, entitled ‘Digital Safety Journey’, aimed at enhancing children’s awareness of digital security and safety.
The programme covered a range of topics related to digital safety, including protecting privacy and personal information, using online games and digital platforms safely, as well as introducing children to appropriate ways of dealing with situations and risks they may encounter while using the Internet.
The unit ensured that the content was presented in a simple and age-appropriate manner, helping to reinforce the concepts of digital security and safety among the participating children and encouraging them to make positive and safe use of technology.
The programme also included a number of field visits to the General Directorate of Civil Defence, Police Sports Association, Police Aviation, and the National Ambulance Centre.
The visits aimed to familiarise participants with the nature of the work carried out by these bodies and their various roles, while providing them with an opportunity to gain first-hand insight into the tasks and services they provide.
This formed part of an integrated programme combining digital awareness with educational, field-based and recreational activities.
