MOTORSPORT – The Bahrain Motor Federation (BMF) held a meeting to follow up on the latest preparations and arrangements for the BMF’s participation in organising the Formula One Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia 2026, scheduled to be held at Sepang International Circuit (SIC) from October 2 to 4.
BMF director general Abdulaziz Al Thawadi conveying to those in attendance the greetings and thanks of BMF president and FIA vice-president for Mena Shaikh Abdulla bin Isa Al Khalifa, and stressed the importance of continuing to work and coordinate between the various teams and committees to ensure the highest levels of readiness and success of the international event.
Al Thawadi also praised the support and assistance provided by Bahrain International Circuit to the BMF, and the ongoing cooperation and coordination between the two sides, in addition to the joint efforts made by the BMF’s various committees in organising the race.
The meeting reviewed the results of the field visits conducted by various BMF teams to SIC, where the observations and reports submitted were discussed.
The committee also tackled the various technical and organisational requirements for the race, including coordination with the International Automobile Federation (FIA) and ensuring the implementation and review of approved safety systems and procedures at SIC to guarantee the highest safety standards throughout all stages of the event.
The meeting further addressed the readiness of the BMF’s teams and their members, with the final list of participants’ roles and tasks distributed.
