His Majesty King Hamad has expressed the hope that the new academic year is filled with excellence and achievements for all students in Bahrain.
In a message yesterday, he wished teachers, educators, parents and children a happy and successful academic year.
An orientation day for parents and guardians will be held tomorrow across government schools in the kingdom as they get ready to welcome students again from Thursday.
Being held as part of the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, members of the teaching and administrative staff will provide parents with an overview of the new academic year.
“As we welcome the new academic year 2026/2027 and the return of everyone to in-person learning across all educational institutions, it gives us great pleasure to extend our warmest wishes to you for a distinguished year filled with excellence and achievement across all aspects of education,” His Majesty said in his message.
Bahrain has, in recent times, faced exceptional circumstances, having been subjected to unjustified Iranian attacks targeting a number of civilian facilities and vital infrastructure, he said.
“To safeguard the safety of all, this necessitated the activation of the distance-learning system,” the King said in his message.
“We commend the wise measures taken by our government, under the leadership of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
“These measures helped ensure the continuity of the educational process and safeguarded our students’ learning from any interruption.”
The King said he took great pride in and highly valued the efforts of the administrative, educational and technical teams across educational institutions, which ensured the continuity of learning through the Educational Portal.
“This experience reaffirmed the success of our pioneering ‘Future Schools’ project, launched in 2005 as a major step towards digital empowerment.”
The King thanked parents for their co-operation and continued support for their children.
He also commended the genuine patriotic spirit demonstrated by the people of Bahrain through their expressions of loyalty and support, as well as those issued by institutions and community organisations.
“These stand as the clearest testament to the sincerity of their national belonging and their steadfast support for the stability of our beloved nation.”
