Supreme Council for Youth and Sports first deputy chairman, General Sports Authority (GSA) chairman, and Bahrain Olympic Committee president Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa received a copy of the ISO 9001:20 quality management system certification, obtained by the GSA and presented by GSA CEO Dr Abdulrahman Askar.
The certification represents a new administrative achievement for the GSA, reflecting its commitment to applying best international practices and standards in developing its institutional work system and enhancing the quality and efficiency of its administrative services and operations.
Shaikh Khalid affirmed that the GSA’s attainment of the ISO quality management system certification represents an administrative achievement reflecting the development reached by the authority in its work system and demonstrating its continued commitment to applying quality and governance standards while enhancing efficiency across its operations and services.
Shaikh Khalid said that developing administrative and institutional work is a key pillar in the development of the sports sector in the kingdom.
Shaikh Khalid added that efforts are being made to ensure that the GSA serves as a model of outstanding institutional performance and that work continues in a spirit of development and continuous improvement, contributing to providing a more efficient administrative environment capable of supporting sports federations, clubs, and organisations and achieving the desired objectives of Bahraini sports.
Shaikh Khalid commended the efforts of the GSA executive body and all GSA employees, affirming that the achievement is the result of collective efforts and a commitment to developing performance based on clear foundations and standards.
He called for continued efforts to build on this achievement and attain further administrative and institutional successes in the future.
The ISO quality management system certification, issued by accreditation body ROYALCERT, is based on a comprehensive assessment in accordance with international quality management standards covering the work system and administrative procedures.
The certification covers a wide range of the GSA’s responsibilities, including administrative and financial supervision, oversight of sports organisations and clubs, proposing and implementing plans, projects, programmes, and services, providing financial support, approving sports leave permits, and organising sports activities and services.
