The success of the inaugural Made in GCC Conference 2026 demonstrates the growing confidence and ambition of the region’s industrial sector, a top banking chief has said.
Addressing the milestone event, BBK group chief executive Yaser Al Sharifi highlighted the gathering’s role in bringing together regional leaders, investors, and entrepreneurs to accelerate cross-border economic integration.
“The success of the Made in GCC Conference 2026 reflects the strength, ambition, and growing confidence of the region’s industrial and business community,” Mr Al Sharifi said. “It reinforced a shared belief that the GCC possesses the talent, capabilities, resources, and determination to build globally competitive industries and create lasting economic value.”
He emphasised that expanding local production goes beyond manufacturing outputs to drive broader socio-economic growth.
“Advancing the Made in GCC agenda is about more than increasing local production,” he noted. “It is about building resilient supply chains, empowering businesses, encouraging innovation, developing national talent, and creating opportunities for future generations. It is about transforming the strength of our individual economies into the collective strength of the GCC.”
Reaffirming the financial sector’s role in backing regional expansion, Mr Al Sharifi expressed pride in supporting local enterprises and enabling sustainable growth.
“As a financial institution, we are proud to support this journey by enabling businesses to grow, fostering innovation, and facilitating opportunities that contribute to sustainable economic development across the region,” he added. “The future of the GCC will be built by its people, enterprises, and ambition, and we are proud to be part of that journey.”
