The GCC said yesterday it had postponed the EU-Gulf summit scheduled for October 24 in Riyadh, citing continued Houthi threats against Saudi Arabia and an extended suspension of operations at King Khalid International Airport.
GCC Secretary General Jasem Al Budaiwi said the decision was taken to ensure the safety of participating delegations amid continued threats to civilians. The meeting “will be rescheduled to a later date to be agreed upon in due course by the GCC and EU sides”, he said.
