Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa has issued an edict extending the terms of municipal councils in view of the necessity arising from the current circumstances and their resulting effects.
The edict stipulates that the terms of the current municipal councils shall be extended until the end of the extended term of the sixth legislative term of the Shura Council and Parliament.
All relevant parties, each within their respective capacity, shall implement the provisions of the edict, which shall take effect on the day following its publication in the Official Gazette.
