His Majesty King Hamad issued Decree 55 of 2026 appointing chairman of the Electricity and Water Authority (EWA), based on a proposal by the Electricity and Water Affairs Minister and following Cabinet approval.
The decree stipulates that Urban Planning and Development Authority (UPDA) chief executive officer Ahmed Abdulaziz Ismail Al Khayyat shall be appointed chairman of the EWA, with the rank of Under-Secretary, succeeding Kamal Mohammed .
