Egyptian authorities have arrested a man on a train travelling from Aswan to Alexandria for attempting to smuggle 30 baby crocodiles.
Security personnel grew suspicious after spotting a blue jerrycan hidden inside a large bag.
An inspection of the container revealed dozens of live reptile hatchlings crammed inside.
Official reports confirmed the crocodiles measured between 20 and 25 centimetres in length.
Authorities confiscated the reptiles and transferred them to the Asuiti Valley Reserve for care ahead of their release back into the wild.
