Manama: Bahrain has been ranked first in the Arab region and the Middle East and 17th in the world by an international living standards survey.
Expat Insider, the biggest expat survey worldwide, aims to provide a comprehensive picture of life abroad, focusing on the general quality of life, including work, family, leisure, personal finances, job security, quality child care and quality education.
Ecuador emerged for the second consecutive year as the expats’ favourite, followed by Mexico, Malta, Singapore, Luxembourg, New Zealand, Thailand, Panama, Canada and Australia.
Bahrain scored over other countries on the annual Expat Insider 2015 survey, including the UAE (19), Oman (24), Qatar (54), India (55), Mozambique (56), Brazil (57), Italy (58) and Kazakhstan (59).
The survey ranked Russia (60), Saudi Arabia (61), Nigeria (62), Greece (63) and Kuwait (64).
The global survey ranked Bahrain high, citing particularly easy social integration and government services and facilities.
