Al Hala defeated Isa Town 89-54 in a seventh-week game of the Zain Bahrain Basketball League at the Zain Arena in Um Al Hassam yesterday.
Hala got off to a brisk start taking the first quarter 37-11. They could not maintain the momentum as Isa Town strengthened their resistance to clinch the second quarter 18-17. Isa Town continued to excel after the interval taking the third quarter 17-15 but they failed to make a considerable dent on Hala’s lead. Hala made a fine comeback in the final quarter (20-8) to claim a dominant win.
Keanau Post was the top scorer for the winners with 18 points, 15 rebounds and four assists while Ahmed Khalifa chipped in with 17.
Joyner Marquez scored 20 points for Isa Town.
Later in the evening, Riffa clinched a 65-55 victory over Bahrain Club.
Riffa stayed ahead right from the start and took six-point lead (31-25) at half-time. They took the third quarter 20-14 and wrapped up the game after going down 14-16 in the last session.
Nasser Almosawi led Riffa’s scoring with 21 points and 19 rebounds. He was supported by Hassan Abbas with 15 points.
Baqer Isa was the top scorer for Bahrain Club with 17 points.
The seventh-week games continue today with Al Ettihad taking on Al Najma at 5.30pm and Nuwaidrat facing Sitra at 7.45pm. Both games will be held at the Zain Arena.
