Makki Hassan struck twice to lead a scoring spree for Al Hala, who eased past Al Ettihad 5-1 in a fifth round match of the Second Division Football League last night.
Hala’s huge victory at the Hamad Town Stadium has propelled them to the top of the standings with 12 points.
Besides Hassan, Brazilian Bruno, Qutbuddin and Fahd Jassem scored for Hala while Ali Hassan netted the only goal for Ettihad.
At Al Ahli Club Stadium in Mahooz, Sayed Alawi and Hussein Al Qassab found the net as Al Shabab secured a 2-0 victory over Al Khaldiya.
Yesterday’s victory raised Shabab’s tally to nine while Khaldiya remained on seven.
The fifth round concludes tonight with three encounters, all starting at 6pm. Galali meet Sitra at Al Najma Club Stadium, Bahrain Club take on Al Ettifaq at the Hamad Town Stadium and Tadhamun clash with Isa Town at Al Ahli Club Stadium.
