MANAMA: Bahrain’s National Action Charter will remain a catalyst for more nation building and progress, the King declared yesterday.
He added that the document will also open up wider horizons for popular participation, according to an advanced democratic approach.
His Majesty King Hamad was speaking as he received at Safriya Palace members of the Royal Family Council, marking the 20th anniversary of the adoption of the Charter.

The King welcomed those present and exchanged with them congratulations and good wishes on the occasion, expressing thanks and appreciation to them for their noble patriotic sentiments.
He recalled the historic honourable stance of the loyal Bahraini people, which met the aspirations of Bahrainis through an unprecedented consensus that embodied Bahrain’s all-inclusive identity and their aspirations for more development and progress.
He affirmed that the fundamentals of the Charter, with their renewed spirit and promising vision, will remain catalysts for more nation building, progress, consolidation of the role of the legislative institutions and opening up of wider horizons for popular participation, according to an advanced democratic approach for the sake of Bahrain, its dear people and future generations.
“We are determined to carry on our work and achievements, as well as continue the progress march towards achieving our goals of enhancing the kingdom’s status among countries of the world, and meeting the citizens’ aspirations for more development and progress,” said His Majesty.
He expressed pride in the Bahraini people’s dedication in serving the national action march, praising the major role they are playing to strengthen the kingdom’s leadership at all levels, and affirming that the Bahraini citizens will always remain the focus of the national development process and its ultimate goal.
Members of the Royal Family Council extended sincere congratulations and good wishes to the King, expressing deepest pride in the landmark pioneering achievements attained by the kingdom across all fields, under his wise leadership, placing the nation among developed countries.
They lauded the tremendous efforts exerted by the King to enhance the kingdom’s relations with brotherly and friendly countries, as well as to promote its honourable stances at various international gatherings. They prayed to Allah the Almighty to guide the King on the right path, and to bless him with abundant health, happiness and long life so as to continue the progress march currently witnessed by the kingdom during his prosperous era.
