THIS is regarding the letter published in the GDN on Friday, where the writer asks for the validity of PCR tests for travel purposes to be extended so that he can commute daily to Saudi Arabia.
At the present time commuting between Bahrain and Saudi Arabia on a daily basis would be breaking the law in Saudi Arabia.
Travellers arriving from Bahrain are required to quarantine at home for seven days, or to quarantine at home for three days and then take a PCR test and receive a negative result.
If this person is actually commuting daily then it won’t be too much longer before he is arrested by the Saudi immigration authorities. It has already happened to others.
With the global pandemic already a year old I cannot believe that this person could ask such a question.
