70pc of jobseekers ‘holding high school certificates’
Yeah, because with a bachelor’s degree, post-grad diploma and almost a decade of experience in digital marketing still lands you a BD300 package unless your uncle owns the company. What do you expect?
@hamzaafarooq
@hamzaafarooq It’s true you know! Unless you’re in America and go to an Ivy League college and end up owing $500,000 on completion.
@pamela_tamburello
It’s not like us bachelor holders have any luck.
@riri.s.k
Well, I know many of them hiding their bachelor degrees and working with their high school’s because they know that it’s hard to get a job nowadays and if they mentioned their bachelors.
@fh_mohamed_
Hands off ... with school certificate also nowadays not getting jobs.
@faisalarfan03
Yes, like having a bachelor’s degree will make a difference. This job market will never be fixed as it’s filled with manipulations and nepotism.
@aymanalgallaf
Open more universities!
@sugar_coated_doctor
The unemployment fund has lots of manipulated rules that doesn’t make sense. If a Bahraini resigns from a job, why is he not entitled to unemployment support? The unemployment fund can support high school graduates and enrol them in universities and give them an allowance. Some Bahrainis cannot afford the high fees of universities in Bahrain. Last time I checked, the unemployment fund has a surplus of BD40 million. Support high school graduates to go to universities, give allowance to those who are unemployed regardless of the reason and expand the assistance support.
@relaxingwave
First, let those 20,000 Bahrainis get a job which will help them continue their further studies; 50 per cent of the Bahraini youth are jobless and cannot afford their university studies.
@samir_aljalal_
Well expats are working for BD100 too. That’s what the employers pay these days for low-end jobs.
@adie1407
I totally agree with you but when someone starts a business in Bahrain he wants to pay less and earn more so he chooses expats over Bahrainis. And yeah everyone does that even if the owner of the business is a Bahraini he will still keep expat employees. That’s the reality.
@adie1407
Exactly, everyone deserves to get a decent pay to live his life in a good way. Even expats are humans. I just want to say that at least the Bahrainis should get a decent job which will support them in their studies and normal life expenses.
@samir_aljalal_
BSc certificate holders are applying for jobs and getting rejection emails.
@fahad_yousifzai
The employers want Bahraini cashiers and security guards and other low-paid jobs to be bachelor’s degree holders or higher?
@omaralmohammed
Georgia’s parents raising funds for air ambulance
A lot of wealthy people around the world; why can’t they help save the life of baby Georgia?
@mrs_wiliiamson
Please advise who do we have to send funds to ... we must do everything possible to save baby Georgia.

IATA praise for flights decision
Lockdown was/is never the solution...
Sharon JM
Absolutely great decision, closing flight or lockdown was/is never the solution.
Mohammed Musa
No doubt about it. I am in Bahrain and really this country is awesome. The way they are dealing with the pandemic is the best way I can say. People can get flight easily to Bahrain ... smooth operations for Covid test facility at airport. I think lot of countries should learn from Bahrain how to deal with Covid-19. Lots of love for Bahrain.
Tabish Qureshi
Everyone protect themselves. Avoid spreading the disease to others.
Roy Victor
I guess the hundreds of corona patients currently lying in ICU with severe symptoms are certainly not praising that decision.

Safety concerns at vaccination centre
Poor planning.
@ros_amy1
Those who come late should be rescheduled.
@siddique90
It’s the people who should understand that one should exercise social distancing. One does it, others follow. But yes, social media pictures were seen of the rush. Sad.
@niha_hennaart
People management is key and officials have failed in crowd management. Sad to see.
@hitarth2403
How ironic.
@pamela_tamburello
They have to set up vaccination centres in each province to avoid large gatherings.
