MANAMA: Fuddruckers and Caribou Coffee outlets will soon open at Al Liwan in Hamala.
The announcement follows the signing of a lease agreement between Seef Properties, the developer of Al Liwan, and Food Vest Holding, the local franchise operator of Fuddruckers and Caribou Coffee.
The restaurant and café will occupy a combined area of 220sqm in the mixed use project.
Foodvest Holding has over 20 years of experience in managing and operating franchises for a number of international hospitality and retail brands in the Middle East market.
Fuddruckers opened its first restaurant in Bahrain in 1995, while Caribou Coffee opened its first store in the kingdom in 2007.
Commenting on the signing, Seef Properties chief executive Ahmed Yusuf said: “We are pleased to welcome the two world-famous food and beverage brands; Fuddruckers and Caribou Coffee, in Al Liwan project, which today includes prestigious names in the hospitality and retail sector that will meet the needs of all visitors.
“We are close to the completion of the features of Al Liwan, in terms of leased spaces and the increasing demand for international brands, thanks to its strategic location in Hamala and the distinctive facilities it provides to tenants and visitors.”
Occupying 122,000sqm, Al Liwan overlooks the Wali Al Ahd Highway and features a range of shops, restaurants, coffee shops, sports and entertainment destinations, including a seven-screen cinema and a gym.
Inspired by Bahrain’s Arab culture, the name Al Liwan means the spacious hall that was used for receiving guests in traditional houses.
The development will also feature 117 residential units spread over three storeys.
It also includes open areas, green spaces, waterfronts and boulevards.
The project is being developed by Lama Real Estate Development, a joint venture company of Seef Properties.
