Bahrain Ship Repairing and Engineering Company (Basrec) has supplied the Health Ministry with a hi-tech device used to test and monitor bacterial toxins in dialysis units.
It assesses the quality and safety of water used in the dialysis units to avoid the penetration of bacterial toxins through the special filters in the dialysis machines.
Under-Secretary Dr Waleed Al Manea received BASREC chairman Fawzi bin Ahmed Kanoo who submitted the cutting-edge medical equipment.
Mr Kanoo thanked BASREC for their generous support to improve the standards of health services through partnership and community responsibility.
He said that the device will be used in the dialysis centres at Salmaniya Medical Complex, Abdul Rahman Kanoo Centre and Shaikh Abdullah Centre.
