NATIONWIDE online singing auditions are going to be launched aimed at creating feelings of connection in a time when young people are separated and having to follow social distancing rules.
The Together We Rise project, organised by visual brand consultant Katja Koehler and musician/filmmaker Jason Carter, will result in an international song and music video.
“The aim is to allow children and young people to reach out to others across the globe through music,’ explained the German mother-of-two who has lived in Bahrain for 13 years.
“The filming will be done at the beach once restrictions are lifted, or with special permission, but with only one singer at a time in order to follow the recommended Covid-19 safety guidelines.
“The message of the song is that we are ‘all one’ and that #TogetherWeRise. At this time it is so important to remember that we are always connected and should live our dreams and that the world is so much more than just an online experience.”
The organisers are looking for singers of all nationalities aged eight to 18 to feature both as solo vocalist and as actors in the music video.
They are looking for confident singers, able to sing in tune and in time with a backing track, although boys with low or broken voices are also urged to apply.
“This is your chance for fame as the project is going to be launched internationally this summer,” added Mr Carter.
The recording and filming will be staged from June 10 and completed by July 10. There are no fees involved.
• In order to be considered, the organisers request that applicants, with parental permission, attach a photograph and a video of themselves singing and upload them to https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSf1gT1GP1a3HbQI4q6G5OxTzPpSBFvGQeLWPvKvavirnLeCmw/viewform
