There is great joy in listening to the birds before sunrise (Al Fajr) and at sunset (Al Maghrib).
Someone I know goes to the mosque five times a day and yet has never noticed the birds rejoicing in the new day, or chirruping as they settle down for the night.
If you keep birds as pet cover them at sunset and uncover them just before sunrise.
God gives us much more than we ever give ourselves, though it is rarely appreciated because of human self-importance.
Stop, look and listen; there is joy in God’s work. Instead of fussing and fuming when you are stuck in traffic beside a stretch of green grass, laugh at the mynah birds strutting about.
Thank God, we have a lovely peaceful island in which to enjoy what we have been given.
