MANAMA: The 2021 edition of Injaz Bahrain’s Young Entrepreneurs Competition kicks off tomorrow.
The two-day event, set to take place virtually over Zoom, will see the participation of students from 10 schools and eight universities in Bahrain.
The concluding award ceremony will be livestreamed on Injaz Bahrain’s YouTube channel.
The event will additionally feature the participation of several high-profile Bahrain-based businesses and entities as sponsors, including Tamkeen, Banagas, Amazon Web Services (AWS) and National Bank of Bahrain (NBB).
Participating student teams from both school and university levels will be recognised across the eight award categories, including Company of the Year 2021 – High School and University, Product of the Year 2021 – High School and University; Best Social Impact 2021 – High School and University.
Company of the Year winners will qualify to compete at the regional level while the final two categories, Excellence in Technology, sponsored by AWS, and Excellence in Digital Marketing, sponsored by NBB, are Signature Awards.
Judges include Shaikh Abdulla Al Khalifa from Banagas, Abdul Nasir from Citi, Adnan Al Mahmood and Yasser Al Abbasi from GPIC, Ahmed AlKhenaizi from Tamkeen, Ahmed Burashid from KHCB, Hussain Haji from Inagrab, Mohamed Al Rayes from BBK, Nidal Al Basha from AWS Bahrain, and Hisham Abu Fateh from NBB.
Injaz Bahrain chairwoman Shaikha Hessa bint Khalifa Al Khalifa said on the success of Injaz Bahrain’s YEC Forum 2021 saying: “Over the past two years, our students have demonstrated extraordinary strength of spirit, innovative thinking and a determination to succeed in the face of challenges. We are proud to continually bring the YEC competition to life each year in order to provide these leaders of tomorrow with the platform, resources and community to propel themselves forward as the future leaders of their generation. We look forward to seeing the direction their creativity and business acumen take in this year’s competition.”
