MANAMA: Ahli United Bank (AUB) has been recognised as the Best Bank in Bahrain 2021 by leading international finance magazine Euromoney.
AUB was awarded as the Best Bank by Euromoney based on its achievements, innovations and performance over the last 12-month period, the bank said, in a statement yesterday.
In addition, AUB’s ability to demonstrate resilience and adaptability in a very difficult and evolving Covid-19 pandemic impacted operating environment, its relative outperformance compared with peers and continued ability to meet client needs in a seamless and secure manner were the other key contributing factors for the accolade.
“In 2020 the bank posted higher profits and a lower non-performing loan ratio than any other local lender. It continues to invest in digital unveiling an upgraded mobile banking platform, introducing WhatsApp banking and bolting on new services to Al Tajer, its digital platform for small and medium-sized firms,” said Euromoney’s editor Louise Bowman.
AUB chairman Meshal Al Othman said, “AUB’s well-managed business model, supported by its continued focus on its core earnings streams, robust risk management system and an intelligent spend strategy, has paid off through the delivery of resilient performance as it traversed the challenging market conditions in a balanced and structured manner.

This award marks the latest addition to a long string of recent accolades the bank has garnered from leading industry bodies.
