AN ex-convict is back in the dock once again, this time for allegedly threatening to send explicit photographs of his fiancee to her parents after she sought to end their relationship.
The 29-year-old Bahraini is standing trial at the Lower Criminal Court where he is accused of misusing telecommunication devices and threatening to publish photographs of his fiancee on social media.
The 25-year-old woman filed a case against him in July, claiming that the defendant had been inflicting tremendous emotional pain over the years.
The ex-convict was previously jailed for three years by the High Criminal Court for arson and assaulting policemen in 2015.
“We were engaged, but then he was jailed and I wanted to end our relationship,” she said in her statement to prosecutors.
“He was enraged when I informed him about my decision. He also said that he would turn my life into hell. He threatened to publish my photos and send them to my parents.”
Defence lawyer Intisar Al Asfour said there was no evidence to prove her client guilty.
The trial has been adjourned until Monday for a ruling.
