Manama: Top Bahraini officials have held key talks on security strategies with senior delegates attending the Manama Dialogue, which ended yesterday.
National Security Adviser and Royal Guard Commander Major General Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa yesterday met French secretary general for national defence and security Stéphane Bouillon, Indonesian Defence Minister Prabowo Subianto and Indian Air Marshal Balabhadra Radha Krishna, chief of integrated defence staff and chairman of the chiefs of staff committee, on the sidelines of the conference.
He reviewed with them ways to strengthen ties, especially regarding the exchange of expertise and military co-ordination.
Foreign Minister Dr Abdullatif Al Zayani met Yemen Minister of Foreign and Expatriate Affairs Dr Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak and discussed latest political and security developments in Yemen, and efforts made as part of UN initiatives to reach a political solution to bring peace there in accordance with internationally approved resolutions.
The minister also met US National Security Council Co-ordinator for the Middle East and North Africa Brett McGurk, Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs Ayman Al Safadi and Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq Masrour Barzani.
