A school student in Al Zarqa, Jordan, has been accused of assaulting a teacher with a saw, leaving him with injuries to his face and arms.
According to reports, teacher Malik Munir was preparing to teach his third class of the day when he noticed a student, who was not part of the class, sitting inside and behaving disruptively.
When Mr Munir asked him to leave, the student allegedly began swearing at him and threatened him, saying: “If you weren’t a teacher, I would have beaten you in front of the students.”
Another teacher intervened and escorted the student from the classroom.
Later that day, after classes had ended, Mr Munir was reportedly heading to a mosque for Dhuhr prayers when he encountered the same student, who was allegedly waiting for him with a saw.
The student allegedly attacked the teacher, causing injuries to his arms and face as he tried to defend himself.
According to reports, Mr Munir managed to escape into the mosque, where he contacted the authorities.
He later filed an official complaint, following which the student was arrested and taken to a juvenile rehabilitation centre.
