MANAMA: His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, yesterday met editors-in-chief of local news outlets at Riffa Palace and presented them with the Prince Salman Bin Hamad Medal for Medical Merit, in recognition of their prominent role in supporting the kingdom’s comprehensive Covid-19 response.
HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister noted that the royal order to present the medal to frontline professionals and supporting staff, reflects His Majesty King Hamad’s appreciation of Team Bahrain’s relentless efforts and honourable sacrifices made in combating Covid-19 and preserving public health.
He emphasised the pivotal role of the kingdom’s Press in effectively raising awareness of measures to combat Covid-19, which is an important part of the combined efforts of Team Bahrain to overcome the effects of the global pandemic and maintaining public health.
HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister then presented the medals to the editors-in-chief, and extended the King’s gratitude for their significant role in supporting Bahrain’s comprehensive pandemic response.
HRH Prince Salman noted the role of Press in covering various issues of interest to the Bahraini citizens, which contributes to the kingdom’s development and prosperity.
The editors expressed their gratitude for receiving the honour and their appreciation to HRH Prince Salman for presenting them with it.
They further noted that the medal represents a greater responsibility for local news outlets to contribute to the success of all development projects in the kingdom.
Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Finance and National Economy Minister Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa and Cabinet Affairs Minister Hamad Al Malki also attended the meeting.
