Celebrations for Bahrain’s 53rd National Day kicked off last night and are set to continue today and tomorrow as the kingdom comes together to mark the establishment of the modern Arab Muslim state and the 25th anniversary of His Majesty King Hamad’s accession to the throne.
A rich programme of diverse festivities have been lined up in addition to landmarks and streets lit up in red and white across malls, main intersections and other locations including Manama, Isa Town and Muharraq.
Last night, fireworks lit up the sky over Seef District, with a stunning display above Water Garden City, in addition to mesmerising traditional shows and performances by the popular police music band.
This evening, a fireworks display promises to dazzle onlookers at the Bahrain International Circuit in Sakhir at 7pm, alongside the Wen W Bkm Festival taking place until tomorrow.
The Southern Governorate’s National Day festivities will continue this afternoon at 3pm at the Khalifa Al Kubra Garden, with local vendors, activities for children, an historical exhibition, traditional crafts and more.
The ‘Celebrate Bahrain National Days’ festival gets an extended run until January 4 at the Heritage Village in Ras Hayyan. Today and tomorrow, it is open from 4pm to midnight.
From 8am to 3pm today and tomorrow, the Farmers Market in Hoorat A’Ali will host festivities featuring traditional crafts, delicious local dishes, alongside engaging activities for children in vibrant indoor and outdoor spaces.
Al Baraha Nights continue at the Souq Al Baraha in Diyar Al Muharraq until the end of the month, as well as Muharraq Nights along the Pearling Path.
The Muharraq Nights Festival has transformed the historic streets of Muharraq into a captivating destination filled with heritage, creativity and art.
Running until December 30, the festival offers diverse activities for everyone, from children enjoying workshops and entertainment areas to art and history enthusiasts exploring traditional homes and unique dining experiences along the Pearling Path.
Shopping centres across Bahrain are also gearing up to welcome visitors with exclusive entertainment offerings to mark the national festivities.
The Avenues Bahrain is hosting a ‘Winter Village’ filled with engaging activities and vibrant exhibitions, for example.
At 7pm today, Hanan Redha, Faisal Al Ansari and Ebrahim Al Najem will take the stage at the Central Galleria within City Centre Bahrain, while a traditional Ardha band will entertain visitors at Al Liwan, starting at 7.30pm.
Other shopping destinations, including Seef Mall, Al Sayah Square, Moda Mall and Dragon City Bahrain will feature special shopping experiences and promotions in celebration of the occasion.
All the governorates have come together to light up key streets in commemoration of the festive season.
The Capital Municipality decorated King Faisal Highway, Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman Highway, and various intersections with decorative lights and seasonal flowers.
Muharraq Municipality decorated Prince Khalifah Bin Salman Park, Airport Road, and key intersections with illuminated trees.
The Northern Municipality decorated Saar, Hamad Town, Salmabad, and King Fahad Causeway, while the Southern Municipality decorated Zallaq Highway, Wali Al Ahd Highway, and Riffa, including significant landmarks such as the Abu Dhabi Roundabout and Isa Town Gate.
