The Supreme Council for Health (SCH) and the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties signed a strategic memorandum of understanding (MoU) to enhance co-operation in health training, knowledge exchange and continuing medical education, aiming to improve the efficiency of healthcare professionals in both countries.
The agreement came on the sidelines of the Manama Health Congress and Expo 2024, held from Thursday to Saturday.
The MoU was signed by SCH secretary genral Dr Ibrahim Ali Al Nawakhdha and Saudi Commission for Health Specialties secretary general Dr Aws Ibrahim Al Shamsan.
SCH chairman Lieutenant General Dr Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al Khalifa highlighted the deep-rooted Bahrain-Saudi relations, supported by the leadership of the two countries.
The MoU includes the establishment of internationally accredited training programmes, improved admission mechanisms and the issuance of globally recognised certifications. It also seeks to align medical education standards, adopt digital solutions for verifying medical certificates, and collaborate on health profession licensing exams.
Dr Al Shamsan emphasised the memorandum’s role in advancing healthcare integration and professional development.
