BAHRAINI horticulturists wishing to participate in the 13th edition of the popular and most-anticipated Bahraini Farmers Market have been urged to register.
The Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture Ministry said yesterday that applications for the 2025-2026 season will be accepted until Monday.
Registration is open for farmers, agricultural companies, nurseries, date producers, bee keepers, restaurants, cafés, entrepreneurs and productive families who offer locally-sourced or agriculture-related products.
Interested participants can apply via the online registration form available on the ministry’s official website, www.mun.gov.bh, or through the market’s Instagram account, @farmersbh.
Assistant Under-Secretary for Agriculture Affairs Mohammed Al Oraibi confirmed the ministry’s full readiness to launch the upcoming season of the annual market, which will once again take place at the Budaiya Botanical Garden.
The event is organised in partnership with the National Initiative for Agricultural Development (NIAD) and stc Bahrain.

“We are proud to announce the start of preparations for the 13th edition of the Bahraini Farmers Market, which has become one of the most anticipated annual national events,” said Mr Al Oraibi.
“This year’s edition will build on the remarkable successes of previous seasons, further cementing the market’s position as a vital platform supporting local agricultural production and related entrepreneurial ventures.”
The official added that the ministry and its partners were working to deliver ‘a distinguished and vibrant season’ that will highlight the creativity and diversity of Bahrain’s agricultural sector.
According to Mr Al Oraibi, the organising committee has prepared a comprehensive calendar of events and activities to be held every Saturday throughout the market season.
“The Farmers Market has evolved into a national platform that brings together producers, artisans and families to showcase Bahrain’s agricultural heritage,” he explained.
“It has become a space that not only supports farmers but also strengthens the local economy and encourages consumers to choose Bahraini products.”

Launched in 2012, the Bahraini Farmers Market has grown steadily to become one of Bahrain’s most popular community events, attracting thousands of visitors each weekend.
Hosted at the scenic Budaiya Botanical Garden, it offers a festive atmosphere where visitors can buy fresh local produce directly from farmers, enjoy family-friendly activities, and support small Bahraini businesses.
The initiative aims to promote food security, enhance the competitiveness of local agricultural products and encourage sustainable farming practices.

Over the years, the market has provided hundreds of farmers with direct access to consumers, helping increase their income and visibility while reducing reliance on intermediaries.
Its popularity continues to grow, making it not just a market but a celebration of Bahraini agriculture and community spirit.
“Each season, we witness greater participation from farmers and stronger public turnout,” said Mr Al Oraibi.
“This reflects the deep connection between the Bahraini people and their land, and the growing appreciation for local, fresh and sustainable produce.”
The 13th edition of the Bahraini Farmers Market is expected to open later this year, continuing its tradition of supporting local farmers and promoting Bahrain’s agricultural identity.
