Bahrain's largest inter-school cultural festival for Indian students kicked off with a grand opening ceremony that blended tradition and talent with youthful energy.
The silver jubilee edition of the Indian Talent Scan 2025, organised by the Kerala Catholic Association (KCA) in collaboration with Bahrain Financing Company (BFC), will bring together hundreds of children aged five to 18 from schools across Bahrain to showcase their skills in art, music, dance and elocution, among others.
BFC sales head Anuj Govil was the chief guest at the opening ceremony which was held at the KCA premises in Segaiya.
In his address, he praised KCA’s continued efforts in nurturing young talent.
Present at the event were parents, children, principals from leading Indian schools in Bahrain and community members.
KCA president James John highlighted the association’s 55-year-old journey and how the event has become one of its proudest contributions to the Indian community in the kingdom.
The guests of honour were Indian School chairman Binu Mannil, New Horizon School chairman Joy Mathews and New Indian School principal Gopinath Menon.
They praised the annual platform for fostering confidence, creativity and cultural appreciation among children.
The main highlight of the evening was a fashion show competition, which saw more than 50 participants from five age groups walk the ramp with confidence.
Each category showcased creativity through costumes, expressions and themes, earning cheers and applause from the large audience.
“This year’s Indian Talent Scan is more than just a competition, it’s a celebration of the dreams, effort and spirit of our children,” said competition chairperson Simi Leo.
“Every performance we witness is a story of encouragement and growth.
“We are overwhelmed by the participation and by the unity shown by parents, schools and volunteers who make this possible.”
The ceremony concluded with the lighting of the traditional lamp and a group photo session featuring the organising committee, dignitaries and participants.
With more than 3,000 event entries and across the five age groups, the 25th edition of the event is expected to conclude in December.
Registrations for team events ended yesterday.
The schedule of nearly 100 events extending up to November 4 is available on the KCA website www.kcabahrain.com.
