Foreign Minister Dr Abdullatif Al Zayani said developing the ministry’s diplomatic and administrative systems and enhancing institutional efficiency remain key priorities.
He was speaking as the Foreign Ministry and the Civil Service Bureau stepped up co-ordination to implement and update quality management systems in the ministry in accordance with the requirements of the international standard (ISO 9001:2015).
Dr Al Zayani pointed out that this co-ordination is an extension of the ministry’s efforts to consolidate quality, excellence and governance, and to develop its operational processes in line with global practices and standards.
He appreciated the role played by the Civil Service bureau in providing government agencies with technical and administrative expertise, and supporting their efforts aimed at developing work systems and raising their institutional efficiency.
Civil Service bureau president Shaikh Daij bin Salman bin Daij Al Khalifa said the co-operation reflects the integration of governmental efforts in adopting institutional work systems based on clear standards and approved international practices.
He noted the bureau’s keenness to harness its expertise and technical capabilities to support the ministry in the various stages of implementing the quality management system, in a way that contributes to achieving the desired goals and ensuring the sustainability of the application.
He explained that the implementation process is based on an integrated supervisory and auditing plan that includes five main stages, starting with strengthening the institutional quality culture, through documenting and developing procedures and processes, training and providing technical support, reaching internal auditing, then external auditing in preparation for meeting the requirements of accreditation according to the international standard (ISO 9001:2015), in addition to providing the necessary technical and advisory consultations to ensure the efficiency of the application and the sustainability of its results.
