Parliament has unveiled a series of groundbreaking smart platforms and AI-powered initiatives aimed at transforming parliamentary operations, enhancing transparency and improving access to legislative information.
These initiatives are the result of an ambitious digital transformation programme led by Bahraini professionals, who developed a suite of intelligent systems to automate administrative and parliamentary services and to apply advanced data analytics in institutional development and decision-making.
“Our vision is to make the Bahraini Parliament one of the most technologically advanced in the world,” said Parliament Secretary-General Mohammed Al Sissi Al Buainain.
“These initiatives reflect our firm commitment to innovation, efficiency and openness through the use of artificial intelligence and smart systems.”
Mr Al Buainain revealed that among the key innovations is the ‘Analytical Session Platform’ which uses advanced AI to analyse recorded parliamentary sessions.
“The system automatically converts video and audio discussions into precise written transcripts, identifies speakers and categorises content based on discussion topics – a major step forward in improving accessibility and record-keeping accuracy.”
He added that another milestone is a ‘Smart Researcher’, an integrated platform that enables users to conduct simultaneous searches across videos, audio recordings and related documents.
“By combining text, sound and video results in one place, the platform makes it easier for researchers, journalists and MPs to access comprehensive, interconnected information,” said Mr Al Buainain.
The ‘Data Platform’ focuses on the visualisation and analysis of parliamentary data using AI and machine learning, he added.
“It allows users to pose questions directly to the system and receive instant analytical insights and visual representations of legislative trends and decisions, offering a deeper understanding of parliamentary processes.
“Completing the suite is the ‘Smart Parliamentary Platform’ which unifies various parliamentary systems into one interactive environment.
“It offers integrated services such as project tracking, data analytics, agenda reviews, automated documentation of committee meetings and advanced search functions across parliamentary records.”
Mr Al Buainain said by investing in smart systems and AI, they were seeking not only to streamline internal operations, but also empower the public, researchers and decision-makers with richer, data-driven insights.
“This digital transformation marks a new era of institutional excellence for Bahrain’s legislative system.
“The launch of these platforms underscores Bahrain’s leadership in digital governance and its commitment to harnessing emerging technologies to strengthen legislative performance and public engagement.”
