ALBA, the world’s largest single-site smelter, will partner with the fourth annual Sustainability Forum Middle East (SFME) in Manama on January 27 and 28, 2026, the organisers announced.
The partnership underscores Alba’s commitment to its ESG roadmap and aligns with Bahrain’s target of achieving net-zero emissions by 2060.
Alba’s sustainability strategy is anchored on innovative initiatives, including the operation of its Power Station 5 (PS5) Block 4, which enables a reduction of 0.5 tonnes of carbon emissions per tonne of aluminium produced.
The company is also developing the Alba Solar Farm, one of Bahrain’s largest single-site solar projects, expected to generate 10,539 MWh annually and cut approximately 7.6 million kilogrammes of carbon emissions. Alba also recently launched a low-carbon product line, EternAl.
Alba chief executive officer Ali Al Baqali said the collaboration aims to “accelerate Bahrain’s climate ambitions and share actionable insights that enable a more sustainable industrial ecosystem.”
The forum will be held in the presence of Oil and Environment Minister Dr Mohamed Bin Daina and is set to convene over 400 business and policy leaders to focus on advancing energy and climate transformation.
