FOOTBALL – The 22nd Kingdom Golden Generation U-17 Youth Centres Championship – organised by the Empowerment Youth Centre in Al Sehla in cooperation with the Abu Quwah and Al Hoora and Qudaibiya Youth Centres – enters a decisive stage today, with the semi-finals taking place at the Abu Quwah Youth Centre Stadium.
At 4.05pm, Al Ma’ameer will take on Abu Quwah, followed by the second semi-final at 6pm between Al Sehla North and Karzakan.
The winners of both matches will advance to the final, scheduled for Tuesday next week.
Ma’ameer booked their semis spot by topping Group A in the preliminary round with a perfect 12 points, earning direct qualification.
Sehla North achieved the same by leading Group B with 10 points, sending them directly to the last four as well.
Abu Quwah reached the semis after edging Sanabis 3-1 on penalties in the quarter-finals following a goalless draw in regular time.
Karzakan, meanwhile, secured their place in the final four with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Karrana.
Ali Hussain opened the scoring for Karzakan before Sayed Hassan Mohamed equalised for Karrana, but Hussein Tawfiq sealed the win in the second half to send Karzakan through.
