BASKETBALL – Bahrain's women’s and men’s 3x3 basketball teams begin their medal bids today in the Gulf Basketball Association (GBA) 3x3 Championships 2025, taking place in Muscat, Oman.
The two-day event features senior squads from Qatar, Oman, and Bahrain, who will be vying for the coveted GBA crown.
The kingdom’s women’s team is composed of Bayan Salman and Aya Kamali, who are fresh from winning the title in the GBA U21 3x3 Championships hosted by the kingdom last weekend, and Hessa Al Jaber and Meryan Sameer.
Aside from the GBA U21 title, Salman also came away with the Most Valuable Player award.
The men’s squad, meanwhile, features Mohammed Kowayed, Milos Supica, Bogdan Dragovic, and Hassan Fahad.
Kowayed competed in last weekend’s Manama Final on the Fiba 3x3 World Tour 2025, while Supica and Dragovic were a part of the Bahrain team that came narrowly short of medalling at the sixth Islamic Solidarity Games in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia earlier this month.
Bahrain’s women begin their campaign today against Oman B at 5.20pm.
They then play Qatar at 7.10pm as they hope to reach the knockout stage.
The men face off with Oman B in their first fixture at 4.40pm, to be followed by their clash with Qatar at 6.30pm.
