Parliament Speaker and Parliamentary Division executive committee chairman Ahmed Al Musallam chaired a co-ordination meeting of Bahrain’s parliamentary delegation ahead of the 152nd General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), to be held in Istanbul, TÜrkiye, from April 15 to 19.
Mr Al Musallam said the delegation will focus on presenting the implications of attacks targeting Bahrain, GCC countries and Jordan, and their impact on regional security and stability, in line with United Nations Security Council Resolution 2817 and Human Rights Council Resolution 38.
He stressed the importance of conveying these developments to parliaments worldwide and highlighting attacks on civilian facilities as violations of international law and state sovereignty that require a unified international response.
He noted that parliaments play a role in supporting initiatives that contribute to safeguarding regional security, protecting sovereignty, and ensuring maritime navigation.
Mr Al Musallam emphasised Bahrain’s commitment to peace, coexistence and dialogue, while rejecting attacks targeting the kingdom and their impact on security and stability.
