His Majesty King Hamad has highlighted the depth of the longstanding partnership between Bahrain and Italy as well as shared keenness and ongoing efforts to develop it across various domains, during a meeting with Italian Ambassador Andrea Catalano.
He was briefed about the progress of the close bilateral ties, various aspects of co-operation and joint work, and means to further develop them in a manner that serves the mutual interests of the two countries and their peoples.
The King commended the ambassador’s ongoing constructive efforts to support and strengthen these ties, wishing him success.
They reviewed regional and international developments, particularly the recent developments in the region.
Ambassador Catalano expressed his thanks and appreciation to His Majesty for his role in the continued growth and prosperity of bilateral ties, and in advancing the level of their co-operation that achieves mutual benefit.
He also reiterated his country’s condemnation of the blatant Iranian attacks on the territory of the kingdom, and its solidarity and support for the kingdom in all measures it takes to safeguard its sovereignty, security and stability, and to ensure the safety of its citizens.
