VOLLEYBALL – HOLDERS Muharraq barged into the semi-finals of the 2025-26 His Royal Highness the Crown Prince’s Cup last night.
Muharraq secured their berth in the last eight with a dominant 3-0 (25-18, 25-17, 25-16) victory against Al Tadhamun at Isa Bin Rashid Volleyball Arena at Isa Sports City in Riffa.
Muharraq will next take on the winners of the quarter-final clash between Al Ahli and Al Najma.
Meanwhile, also making it through to the final four were Bani Jamra, who defeated Nabih Saleh 3-2 (25-23, 24-26, 21-25, 25-23, 15-9) in a tough, see-saw affair played at the same venue.
Bani Jamra will next take on recently crowned 2025-26 Isa Bin Rashid Bahrain Volleyball League champions Dar Kulaib in the semis.
The final four is scheduled to be played on Wednesday later this week. They will set the stage for the highly anticipated title-decider, which is slated for Saturday.
This year’s His Royal Highness the Crown Prince’s Cup is a knockout competition that began with all 14 teams that are under the umbrella of the Bahrain Volleyball Association. Dar Kulaib and Muharraq were given automatic berths in the quarter-finals after finishing as the league’s top two teams.
Muharraq lifted last season’s trophy following a hard-earned victory in four sets against Dar Kulaib, who are now aiming for a sensational title double.
