A 37-year-old woman has been arrested by Bahrain’s Interpol authorities in connection with a drug case, the Interior Ministry said.
The International and Interpol Affairs Directorate at the General Directorate of Anti-Corruption and Economic and Electronic Security said the arrest was part of ongoing efforts to strengthen international co-ordination in combating organised and cross-border crime and tracking fugitives.
The suspect was wanted to enforce a court ruling issued by judicial authorities in a brotherly Gulf state in connection with a narcotics case.
The directorate said the arrest followed a circular issued through the Arab Interior Ministers Council, based on an international warrant from the Public Prosecution in that country.
After completing legal procedures, the woman was handed over to a security delegation from the requesting Gulf state.
