Walls, buildings and extensions encroaching on public property in Hamala’s Block 1012 were demolished yesterday by the Northern Municipal Council as part of a crackdown on violations.
Bulldozers were deployed to clear the encroachments, while trucks removed debris from the site.
The campaign is being carried out in co-operation with the Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture Ministry and Urbaser Bahrain. The council urged residents to adhere to property boundaries to avoid inconveniencing others.
Additionally, they warned people looking to sell their cars against displaying vehicles in public spaces, including streets and open areas, cautioning that violations could result in fines of up to BD300.
Citizens can report encroachment or illegal construction in the Northern Governorate either through the national suggestions and complaints system Tawasul, or by calling 17985000.
Earlier this week, the Southern Municipal Council took similar action against violators, removing a number of vehicles from streets and other public spaces.
Owners with legitimate claims have been urged to collect their vehicles in person from the municipality in Riffa by today, with proof of ownership and payment of any related fines.
Otherwise, the municipality warned that the vehicles, along with other confiscated items, will be sold at a public auction.
Meanwhile, the Muharraq Municipal Council has issued a warning urging residents to remove large waste from residential areas to maintain cleanliness and improve the urban environment, and to avoid leaving such items on pavements or in public spaces.
Those wishing to dispose of bulky waste, including furniture, rubbish or construction debris, are advised to contact the relevant authorities for collection by calling 8000111 or via WhatsApp at 17729151.
