The assessment process for a key scholarship programme has begun, with 1,360 applicants from government and private schools, as well as Bahraini students studying abroad, taking part.
The Crown Prince’s International Scholarship Programme (CPISP), in co-operation with the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF), has started administering qualifying tests at the BIBF headquarters to assess candidates’ English language proficiency and critical reasoning skills.
CPISP finance and administration affairs executive director Shatha Ali said the tests evaluate students’ verbal, numerical and diagrammatic reasoning through three critical assessment components.
For applicants studying outside Bahrain, the programme arranged supervised testing at appropriate locations.
Ms Ali noted that the next phase will involve selecting a minimum of 80 candidates based on their test results and Grade Point Average (GPA).
The shortlisted candidates, to be announced before the end of next month, will undergo training and preparation for standardised tests over the summer and the following academic year, ahead of the final scholarship recipients being selected in April 2027.
The official added that a total of 1,423 applications were received during the submission period from March 1 to 15.
The programme’ s application criteria include Bahraini citizenship, a GPA of 97 per cent or higher, and enrollment in Grade 11 (or equivalent), with graduation in 2027.
