A Bahraini delegation is to attend the 17th General Assembly of the Arab Parliamentary Scout Union this week (May 18-20) in Rabat, Morocco.
The union is a regional network of current and former legislators dedicated to supporting and developing the scouting movement across the Arab world. Among the core objectives is an aim to provide a legislative and diplomatic framework to support Arab youth, foster volunteerism and build leadership skills.
According to a statement, the delegation will submit a proposal requesting the union to re-iterate its support for Bahrain amidst Iranian hostilities.
In the assembly, MPs Mohamed Al Olaiwi and Jalal Kadhem, as well as Shura Council member Redha Munfaredi, will enter a discussion about the union’s position in standing with Bahrain and its neighbouring countries.
In addition, the delegation will meet the president of Morocco’s House of Councillors, attend sessions of the House of Representatives and also meet other scout organisations.
