Teenager Mohammed Al Dossary is riding high after picking a top prize in recognation of his commitment to prayer, community service and exemplary behaviour.
The 17-year-old has been presented with a high-tech bicycle at a special ceremony in his honour. The initiative, launched by Muharraq Municipal Council member and Hidd councillor Mohammed Al Meghawi, aims to encourage young people to play an active role in their communities and reward positive conduct.
Mohammed was selected for his consistent attendance at mosques in the area, as well as his reputation for punctuality, discipline and volunteering.
Mr Al Meghawi described the Hidd teenager as a role model for other youngsters, saying his dedication reflected the values that strengthen communities and inspire future generations.
“Mohammed has shown remarkable commitment and responsibility at a young age,” he said.
“He is an example of how young people can make a positive impact through discipline, respect and community involvement.”
The councillor added that the initiative was designed not only to reward deserving individuals, but also to motivate other teenagers to engage in activities that benefit society.
After receiving his prize, a delighted Mohammed expressed gratitude for the recognition and support he had received from his family and friends.
“I do not do these things to seek rewards,” he said.
“I do them because I believe in helping others and being part of the community. I hope this encourages other young people to do the same.”
Residents welcomed the gesture, describing it as an important way of recognising positive role models and highlighting the contributions of young Bahrainis who quietly serve their communities.
The initiative is expected to continue, with more teenagers set to be honoured for their dedication, volunteerism and positive contributions to society.
