Ten people were sentenced to prison terms of up to five years yesterday in two separate cases for crimes involving violence and sabotage linked to the Iranian attacks on Bahrain in March.
The Public Prosecution also said in a statement that items seized in connection with the cases had been confiscated.
It said that the cases originated from a report submitted by the Interior Ministry, after the defendants were apprehended in the act at two separate locations, while they were involved in violent and destructive acts during the Iranian attacks.
They were subsequently referred to the Public Prosecution, which launched comprehensive investigations, questioned the defendants, interviewed witnesses and obtained forensic evidence.
Authorities ensured that all legal rights and procedural safeguards were upheld.
The defendants were then referred to the High Criminal Court, which heard the cases over several sessions before delivering the verdicts.
The Public Prosecution warned of decisive legal action against anyone involved in acts that threaten public order or endanger the safety of the community through violence or vandalism.
It also affirmed that it will continue to enforce the law to protect the kingdom’s security and stability.
